Morning: Arrive, fun, snow, ice, hellos and handshakes.
Noon sharp: Orienteering Training - How to Use a Compass
12:30pm: Orienteering Course
1:30pm: Group Hike through Wilderness State Park
3:30pm: Back to the cabin for coffee, cocoa, woodstove, and dinner prep.
5:00pm: Veggie Chili and Dutch Oven Cornbread dinner
6:00pm: Campfire outside with Studio Talks from each resident, followed tentatively with spooky group call with Jen from Michigan Wilderness Paranormal Club.
If you’d like to make a night/week/weekend of it, you can reserve your own cabin at theDNR reservation site for Wilderness State Park. Make sure you reserve a cabin at “Wilderness State Park” and not “Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park”.
For those that have already RSVP’d and are planning on making the trip, we are located in Bunkhouse #1 across from the lake in Big Stone Bay. It’s across from the Dining Hall/Nature Center in the campground, which is closed for the season. Parking is available at the Bunkhouse.
