As announced at the CT2 opening here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, CT3 will be at Rabbit Island in Lake Superior, three miles off the Keweenaw in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Rob and Andrew from Rabbit Island emailed me a month or so back, and invited Cabin-Time up north for CT3. I was floored. I am floored.
CT3 will be six artists (maxing out the small boat to ferry folks to and from the tiny island) and will take place August 23 thru August 27 of this summer. Due to the lean crew, CT3 was booked on an invite-only basis. These six artists will work collaboratively on a single, large project on the island. During this first year of Cabin-Time, we’re experimenting with different models for the future of the residency (including different application methods/calls for artists).
CT4 is already in the works for March 2013, and will return to an international open call. So many exciting things in the works for Cabin-Time, getting tougher and tougher to stay tight lipped!
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for tons of preparation details for this, decidedly the most remote of our roaming residencies thus far. This project just gets better and better.
