Cabin-Time: Porkies takes off from Grand Rapids, Michigan on Sunday (Jan. 8) at 5:00am to embark on the first of (hopefully) many roaming artist residencies. Getting the gear piled up, checkin’ the checklists, and got the NOAA radio hummin’.
We’ll drive straight to the Porcupine Mountains, a 9 to 12 hour drive depending on conditions. Pasty pit-stops are in order once over the bridge, hopefully trudging into the Porkies as the sun is setting over Lake Superior. It has been really interesting planning what art-making supplies to bring, keeping gear/supplies as lean and organized (but as prepared) as possible.
